What is a SCOTCH EGG?
🥚 Despite its name, the Scotch Egg is an English delight that has become a staple in British pubs throughout the region. Essentially, a Scotch Egg is a soft-boiled egg (the runny center is a must!) wrapped in sausage and rolled in bread crumbs, then deep-fried to perfection.

We’ve spent the last four years perfecting this iconic dish using only the finest regional ingredients including eggs from local farmers in Currituck County, Cheshire Pork breakfast sausage from Heritage Farms in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and we serve it over a smear of house-made Red Pepper Jelly made from local red peppers grown right here on Roanoke Island.

Geno over at the Lost Colony Tavern in Manteo is throwing a month-long Halloween Party and he asked us to be the official beer.

“Easy,” I said. “Pick a flavor. We have grim reapers, a skeleton bagpiper, an evil fisherman, a witch, and a Creep Show–inspired colonist. Come to think of it, we ARE the official beer of Halloween.”

But it was not easy. Geno of course wanted something special. (It’s never easy, is it Geno?)

Thus, the Blonde of Frankenstein idea was born. Geno then turned to our logo guru Britton, and a masterpiece was created.

Starting in October, we will have an extremely limited run of The Blonde of Frankenstein for the Thirteen Bars of Halloween.

I always thought Halloween in Manteo couldn’t get any better, but I think Geno just proved me wrong.
